𐙚 AUTHOR'S POV 𐙚

Mystic falls thrived on deception. A town built on secrets, where monsters walked among the unsuspecting, and where masks were as essential as breathing.
Vivienne knew this better than anyone.

She stood near the crowd at the Founder's event, arms crossed, watching Caroline laugh stiffly at something Stefan said. She was trying, trying to blend in, trying to pretend that everything was fine. But Vivienne could see through it. The tension in Caroline's shoulders, the flicker of hunger in her eyes.

And then there was Damon.

He stood just a few feet away, watching Vivienne with an expression she hadn't seen from him in a long time- hesitation.

"Are you just going to keep ignoring me?" he finally asked, voice lower than usual.

Vivienne didn't look at him. "That depends. Are you going to stop pretending that almost killing my sister was just another casual mistake?"

Damon signed, running a hand through his hair. "Look, I get it. You're pissed. But I was trying to protect people."
Vivienne finally turns her gaze sharp. "She was terrified, Damon. She trusted you. And instead of helping her, you went straight for the kill."

His jaw clenched. "That's what I do, Vivienne. I don't take risks."

"She wasn't a risk. She was Caroline."

For once, Damon didn't have a sarcastic response. He just looked at her- like he wanted to say something, but didn't know how.

Back in the park, Stood Elena and Caroline and Vivienne approached them, "I saw mom saying something, what did she say?" Vivienne asked.
"She said I was some work to attend and that she'll make it up to me," Caroline said in an upsetting tone and hearing her Vivienne pat her head.
And just like that, Mystic falls' mask came crashing down.
"Something's up" Caroline said, "What do you mean?" Vivienne asked and Elena nodded wanting to know what she meant.

"What going on, what happened," asked Elena to Caroline, Vivienne and Elena followed where Care was going.
"I need to be able to hear better." Said Caroline, "Hear what?" Vivienne asked her. Her mind suspects the disappearances of both the Salvatore brothers and her mom, hoping that it's not connected.

Caroline heard the gun fire and told them that it was Stefan and Damon. And ran towards the forest, Vivienne and Elena followed Caroline paused on her steps and kneed down and said "They have been here." And touched the blood on the leaves.

"What are you guys doing here?" Mason said approaching them, and Vivienne could sense something is up with him, the aura he gave off was something which bothered her.

Elena asked him if he had seen Stefan and he replied with "yeah, Elena, I've seen him. Seen Damon too."
Elena asked where they were and he replied with "you don't need me to for that; I'll let your friend here sniff them out."

"Does your mother know what you are? I'm happy to tell her." he mocked Caroline, which made Vivienne angry, she stood in front of Caroline and said "You don't fuck with her." her magic flooding like blood in her veins.

Mason grabbed Elena by her neck, "Don't be stupid, necks snap easily around here" he said.

The red glow travelled through Vivienne's fingers waiting for them to be allowed to just attack Mason. One move of her finger and Mason's head would be rolling but she waited as Caroline said "I can take you,"

"Wanna bet?" Mason mocked, taking her lightly and if she failed Vivienne was just beside her to back her.

"Yeah, I do." And rushed towards him and held him against the tree, tightening her grip around his neck as he grunted.
"Told you," Caroline tilts her head and says.

Dragged him in the ground, and kicked him in the stomach which caused him to slam against another tree.

Vivienne made sure that he'll stay unconscious, raising her hand and sending a red glow of magic through his head so he'll stay like that for some hours without entirely killing him, his werewolf powers will heal him.

After knocking him out, they all went towards where Caroline was following with the help of her vampire hearing.

They were down the inside, Elena looked at caroline making sure that this was the exact location.

Caroline nodded, "we have to save them, caroline" Elena said holding Caroline's arm. "Mom will know if I go downstairs, she'll know that I'm a vampire" she said anxiously.

Vivienne held Caroline's arm, which made both of them to look at her and said "You stay here, I'll handle downstairs okay, don't come down there, stay here out of sight so nobody sees you" she said gently.

Elena looked wide eyed towards Vivienne objecting to her statement. "No we need her help, she can easily help them out, Vivienne you can't say-"

"You're no one to tell me what I can and cannot do. She'll not risk her life down there just because you said she'll help. Stop putting my sister in danger and stay out of this, I'm talking to my sister and not you."

Vivienne almost yelled at Elena, which caused the brunette to pull her hand away from Caroline and take a step back, knowing that the red head girl is right, and kept her distance because right now Vivienne looked like she'll kill her without thinking.

This was all because the dream, Vivienne was already worked out and elena's bullshit and then this all made her stressed out, which led her to yell at her.

"We don't have time for this" saying this Vivienne made her way downstairs.

Reaching down, she saw her mother shooting Stefan in the stomach, and damon almost passed out beside him.

"Mom." She said making Liz to turn around and look at her. shocked seeing Vivienne there.
"Mom, let them go, they did nothing, I know-" she tried completing her sentence but her mother stopped her.

"No, you stay out of this, Vivienne. I'm doing what's necessary they are monsters." Her mother warned her.

Vivienne raised her arms, and that startled the officer who was accompanied by Liz he raised his gun and shot Vivienne without warning, shocking everyone.

Liz screamed, Vivienne looked down blood flowed down from her stomach. Behind her stood Elena she screamed too seeing so much blood flowing from Vivienne's stomach.

Caroline was pacing outside when she heard the shot and Liz and Elena screaming but nothing from Vivienne which made a knot in her stomach, she raced down and saw Vivienne on the floor beside her was her mother and the officers behind her mother holding the gun ready to shoot again.

That made Caroline angry she sped towards the officers, taking both of them out, snapping their necks like nothing. Rage filled her veins seeing Vivienne hurt.

"Hi mom," Caroline said and then went straight towards Vivienne. Liz was shocked to say the least.

She raced to her, sitting down taking her sister's head on her lap and looked down.

Slowly murmuring words to herself, not caring that her mother saw what she just did, she just didn't care, all she cared was her sister to be okay, reaching towards her wound.

She dug her finger inside the wound, making Vivienne scream in pain.
"It's okay you're okay, I'm sorry" tears ran down Caroline's cheek as she took out the bullet and watched as the wound healed.

Caroline was confused to say the least, when she tore the bullets out of her, the wounds were healing on their own, and at the fastest pace, even Caroline's wound didn't heal that fast, so how the hell Vivienne's wounds were healed this fast.

To lessen the suspicion Caroline bit on her wrist and made Vivienne drink blood so no would get curious about her sister's magically healing. She will have a chat with her when they get home.

Caroline hugged Vivienne silently crying her hands were shaking, while Liz sat there looking shocked at what had just happened.

Vivienne pulled herself up.

Meanwhile Elena fed Stefan and Damon fed on the officers Caroline killed as soon as Damon gained energy he got up slowly and looked towards Vivienne to see if she was okay, she nodded towards him.

"This is the most unfortunate situation. Two deputies dead. And you. What am I gonna do with you?"

That made Vivienne come and stand in front of her mother and look at Damon with a glare.

From behind, Caroline asked. "You won't tell anyone would you mom?"

Liz had tears in her eyes not knowing what to do, "Mom? Mom? Please." Caroline said desperately.

"Mama," Vivienne said her accent showing fully. Her voice held so much emotion, her eyes telling stories. She tilted her head looking at her mother.

Caroline continued, "Look, I know that we don't get along and that you hate me....but. But I'm your daughter and you'll do this for me, right?"

"Mom, please he will kill you." Caroline warned her. And Liz still didn't look up.
Vivienne could see the gears turning inside her mom's head, She sat on her knees in front of her mother.

"Mama, Pozhaluysta
prosto podumay o ney, Chto budet s tvoyey malen'koy devochkoy?"

что будет с твоей маленькой девочкой?

(Mom, please just think about her, what will happen to your little girl)

Liz looked up and looked at Vivienne with tears in her eyes.

Everyone was confused about what they were talking about. Damon looked at Caroline to see if she understands what her sister said. Caroline shook her head, telling him "I can't speak Russian only, Mom and Viv know."

Liz said while shaking her head, "No kak, pochemu. Dorteya, Kak ona okazalas'v takoy situatsii? Ty nichego mne ne skazal(a). Mne trudno ponyat' vse eto srazu."

(But how, why Dorthea, how did she end up like that, You didn't tell me anything it's hard for me to understand all this at once.)

Vivienne held her mother's hands with her right hand and with her left she gently held her mother's face, her tone almost pleading, "Mama, no ty dolzhna pomoch' yey pryamo seychas, ona nuzhedayetsya v tebe pryamo seychas."

Мама, но ты должна помочь ей прямо сейчас, она нуждается в тебе прямо сейчас.

(Mom, but you have to help her right now. she needs you right now.)

Vivienne almost begged her mother to understand but Liz stuck with her beliefs, "Ya ne mogu. Ona stala vsem tem, chto ya nenavizhu."

Я не могу. Она стала всем тем, что я ненавижу.

She screamed at Vivienne, making her flinch at her mother's tone.
(I can't, She has become everything I hate.)

She stood up frustration written all over her face as she turned the other side taking a deep breath to control her anger but seeing Caroline's face snapped something inside her.

Vivienne at this point was desperate because how is she going to face Caroline and tell her that their mother hates what she has become and she'd rather die than keep this secret.

"Ty takaya egoistka!"

Vivienne turned and shouted at her mother.
(You are such a selfish person.)

"Then kill me." Liz looked up at her Daughter, her Dorthea. Vivienne held her tears at bay.

"What no," said Caroline looking between Damon and her mother.
"I can't take this" Liz said her voice breaking as tears started pouring out.

Damon started taking steps towards her, Vivienne stepped in between placing a hand on Damon's chest, and she really looked at him, her iris turning red, there was a hint of blue, swirling around the red, Damon had seen this for the first time.

But Damon being Damon ignored every warning, he side stepped her went towards Liz, "Don't. Touch. Her." Vivienne warned Damon again, he thought he'll just scare the sheriff and she'll agree.

Not knowing, Vivienne will tore him down for even laying a finger on her family. As he held Liz forbes up holding her aggressively, her temper rose.

A mix of red and a hint of blue wrapped itself around Damon's neck, all the voices turned out from her mind, the only instinct was to not let Damon do anything stupid.

The hold of her power grew stronger, she was blinded by rage as Damon continued to hold her mother in his arms. She tightened the hold around his neck choking him.

"Relax, guys, no one's killing anybody." His voice came out strained from being choked to death.
Caroline held Vivienne's hand and gestured to let Damon go.

Vivienne did just that, but still was on guard for anything, anymore moves and she'll take 'em out.

"You're my friend." Damon said looking at liz as he let her go and turned towards Stefan, telling him that they have to clean this all up.

They agreed that as soon as vervain is out of Liz forbes system they'll wipe her memories. Which led to Caroline going home and collecting both her and Vivienne's clothes as they'll stay because liz was being kept in Salvatore's cellar.

Vivienne stood by the door as her mother called and said that she got a stomach bug and she won't be able to come to the station. Liz handed the phone back to Damon as soon as she cut the call.

As Damon talked, Vivienne was leaning by the wall, Liz looked towards her and said, "Keep Caroline away from me, please. I don't wanna see her." as she completed saying that her head was down and she wasn't looking up look at her older daughter in the eye.

"She's your daughter, Liz" Damon said. "Not anymore. My daughter is gone" Replied Liz, making Damon to look towards Vivienne. They made eye contact and Vivienne said "Leave."

Damon nodded and stepped out of the room and looked to see Caroline standing there and patted her on the shoulder as he walked away.

Inside, Vivienne was fuming with anger, "How can you say that," Liz looked up at Vivienne as she continued. "Don't repeat the mistakes Dad did, he did so much damage, don't make Caroline go through that. I beg you." Her teeth gritted against each other as she was forcing words out of her mouth.

"He did more than damage, don't become like him. Don't be a parent a child hates to the point it breaks them. Don't be that person. You have seen the destruction it brings, and you have stayed silent through it all, I will not, I will not see her go through that, she will never go through the same things I did. So you will be the mom she calls when something happens to her."

Vivienne choked on her words, emotions were something she longed to feel but these were the ones that made her not want to feel emotions. She hated them. She swallowed her tears back and continued as Liz looked at her, her tears flowing down like a water flow.

"You will be everything to her you weren't for me. You'll hold her hand and support her no matter who stands in front of her you will stand just beside her and give her strength, you will not be the mom you were to me, You will not abandon her for yourself. You'll stay and I'll make sure of it."

As Vivienne completed saying tears were flowing down from her cheeks too, as wiped them away Liz stood up trying to come towards her, Vivienne stepped back, shaking her head. Liz sobbed, regretting not being there for her daughter when she needed her the most, and now she was repeating the same mistakes.

Liz stood there and watched Vivienne make her way out of the room.
